To whom it may concern,

On January 1st CAT locked out 481 workers at the EMD factory in London Ontario when they refused to take a pay cut of 50%. The CAW local 27, the union representing these workers, tried again and again over the next month to try and sit down and talk with CAT and work out a fair deal but again and again CAT refused. Then on Friday Feb 3rd these same workers (plus close to 100 more that weren't included in the union lockout) turned on their radio or signed onto Facebook to find out that CAT had decided to shut down the plant rather than negotiate (yes, they had to find out at the same time as everyone else, no heads up, no letter, no phone call, they found out the same time the rest of the world did) By doing this they made it obvious that they did not care about ever reaching a deal with these workers, in fact they never planned to keep the factory open at all (it's no coincidence that this happened RIGHT after Indiana passed their Right to Work law.

Caterpillar Inc. has shown through these actions that they do not care about the people that work for them or the people in general. Therefore, I am writing to you to ask if you would please remove Caterpillar work boots from your stores (or at least the London store) in support of the over 550 workers who recently lost their job when CAT shut down the GMD factory.

I look forward to hearing from you,
